El diseño de interiores gana el premio del jurado y el premio del pueblo.

Amsterdam, Países Bajos, 2020-03-05 - El jueves 20 de febrero por la tarde tuvo lugar la ceremonia de entrega de los premios internacionales Frame Awards. La sede holandesa de CBRE en Ámsterdam, The Core, fue elegida en la categoría de Gran Oficina del Año. Ganó tanto el premio del jurado como el del público. Los premios son una iniciativa anual de la revista Frame, una de las revistas líderes en el campo de la arquitectura, el diseño de interiores y el diseño de productos. Un total de nueve oficinas fueron nominadas en esta categoría, incluyendo la sede de ASICS, en la que CBRE trabajó en colaboración con Powerhouse Company. El jurado eligió a los ganadores de cada categoría basándose en los lanzamientos realizados el 19 y 20 de febrero de 2020. Además, el público pudo votar por sus proyectos favoritos para el Premio del Pueblo.

Antecedentes El núcleo: del garaje de coches a la oficina

El núcleo es un antiguo garaje de 50 años en el área de Schinkel de Ámsterdam y se convirtió en una oficina moderna e innovadora en un año. Así, el edificio ha recibido una segunda vida sostenible, con la autenticidad del garaje aún visible en el interior. Por ejemplo, las viejas puertas superiores y los techos de los cobertizos todavía forman parte del interior. La oficina fue creada enteramente por el propio equipo de diseño de CBRE, que ha estado diseñando interiores durante muchos años para las grandes marcas. El concepto del lugar de trabajo, la sostenibilidad y la renovación completa también fueron realizados por el propio CBRE. A principios de este año, la oficina ya fue nominada para "Interior del Año" por la plataforma de arquitectos holandeses Architectenweb.

Centrada en la gente

Ramon Beijen, Director Creativo de CBRE Holanda: "Estamos muy contentos con este prestigioso premio internacional. Es con gran orgullo que de esta manera recibimos el reconocimiento por el diseño de nuestra oficina, The Core, un antiguo garaje de coches transformado en Amsterdam. En especial, es también un reconocimiento al camino que CBRE ha tomado y al enfoque integrado de los diferentes equipos que crearon esta oficina. Este premio nos pone a nosotros, y en particular a nuestro ambicioso y talentoso equipo de diseño, más firmemente en el mapa".

Durante todo el proceso de creación de El Núcleo, no sólo se transformó este edificio, sino también la organización. Beijen continúa: "Con la división de la oficina en diferentes zonas, pasamos de un entorno de trabajo relacionado con la actividad a un entorno relacionado con el estilo de trabajo. Aquí, la gente está en el centro, y nos centramos en la innovación, la co-creación, la salud y la sostenibilidad. El diseño apoya óptimamente esta filosofía, sin perder de vista el carácter único del edificio".

Cuatro zonas

El núcleo tiene cuatro zonas diferentes, apropiadas para cada tipo de empleado. Por ejemplo, está la Biblioteca, donde los empleados pueden trabajar en un ambiente enfocado y tranquilo. El Café es el lugar ideal para reunirse y conectarse. Aquí los colegas se reúnen o con los clientes para reuniones informales. El lugar de trabajo es el corazón bullicioso de la oficina donde la gente trabaja duro, y en el Laboratorio de Clientes los colegas y los clientes dan respuestas creativas a los problemas de vivienda.

The CBRE Group relies on co-creation and Arper products for new headquarters "The Core”
The Dutch branch of CBRE Group, the world’s largest commercial real estate services and investment firm, has moved into its brand-new head office – The Core. During the forwardlooking conversion of a former car repair shop in the middle of Amsterdam's Schinkel quarter, the topics of sustainability, health at work, teamwork and technology were at the top of the agenda. The planning team integrated various Arper designs into the spatial concept, which is divided into four zones. The Aava, Cila and Catifa chair collections, the Cross, Dizzie, Meety and Wim tables and different versions of the popular Pix pouf make The Core a modern, dynamic working environment.

“We were looking for a building with a layout that would offer plenty of room for our style of working. Refurbishing this former Peugeot garage is also consistent with our desire to renew and redevelop, breathing new life into an old building,” says Ramon Beijen, CBRE’s Creative Director. CBRE has thoroughly renovated the fifty-year-old building, applying new insights and innovations in the fields of sustainability, health, collaboration and technology.

The Core gets its name from a combination of two principles of the project: “co” for the first two letters of co-creation, and “re” for real estate. It’s a sentiment reflected in the space itself: the dynamic interior is virtually free of fixed frameworks. According to Marco Hekman, Managing Director Continental Europe and CEO of CBRE Netherlands, The Core is not so much an office, but rather a meeting place in four zones: the CBRE Cafe, the Client Lab, the Workshop and the Library. The diversity of spaces gives employees the opportunity to choose the way of working that suits their needs best: meeting each other in an informal setting, getting together with a client to find a solution or working on an idea in silence.

Flexible Arper products including the Pix collection and functional yet aesthetic office furnishings such as Cross tables and Kinesit chairs make The Core a contemporary, softer workspace. These interior selections were an important part of the development of the project. "CBRE’s The Core in Amsterdam is in all its essence transformed into a holistic workplace experience,” explains Beijen. “Unity through diversity was an important driver when choosing furniture. With their clean, timeless design, sophisticated, fresh colors, and own identity the Arper products really mix well and adapt easily to the work environment.”

CBRE is aiming for the highest possible standards in terms of sustainability and health. Insights from CBRE’s Healthy Offices research, which was conducted in collaboration with the University of Twente, have been applied to create a healthy working environment. For example, there are features that optimize the quality of air, light and water in the building. Circadian lighting has been installed to support employees’ energy levels. Movement in and around the building is also encouraged and healthy food and drinks are available. The Core has been refurbished to the WELL certificate standard, an internationally recognized certificate that promotes and protects the health and well-being of building users. It will also be LEED Gold-certified – a globally recognized standard for sustainable buildings.

“The world around us is constantly changing, and with it the needs of our customers are changing, too,” comments Beijen. “Companies are often inclined to look for answers to changing customer demands behind closed doors. However, it is actually by working directly with customers and other partners that new and surprising solutions can be found. We see cocreation as a way of working that will guide the way innovation comes about in the years to come.”
